More Than Just Grass
To someone who has never held a golf club before, a golf course may look like a giant park with neatly trimmed grass. In reality, it is a carefully designed sporting facility where every area serves a specific purpose. A standard full-size golf course consists of 18 holes and covers anywhere from 30 to 80 hectares. If you have less time, many clubs also offer smaller 9-hole courses. So what else can you expect to find besides the holes themselves?

Practice Areas and Club Facilities
Driving Range: The starting point for most new golfers. This is
where beginners learn the fundamentals of the game. Standing on a covered or outdoor
practice bay, you hit balls towards distant targets while developing a consistent
golf swing.
Putting Green and Chipping Green: Dedicated practice areas with the
same closely mown grass found on the course itself. They are used to practise the
short game: putting the ball into the hole and playing delicate shots from close
range.
Clubhouse: The social centre of the golf club. Here you will find
the reception desk, changing rooms, a restaurant or café, and the Pro Shop, where
you can buy golf balls, gloves and other equipment.
